Q & A with Peter

Q: How did you get started in real estate?

A: I was educated in finance, but I never really loved accounting. I loved people and everyone told me that I should go into sales, plus a family member was in real estate, so that’s what I did and I never looked back.

Q: How did you know that real estate was the right career for you?

A: I loved it immediately. Real estate was different back then. A lot of cold calling and door knocking. I was young and I didn’t know a soul, but I had a very strong work ethic. It wasn’t easy, but I liked it so it never seemed like work.

Q: Why do people choose you to be their real estate agent?

A: Clients say they choose me because of my integrity, reputation, personality and energy . People also tell me they appreciate that I am honest and a straight shooter. I will tell them the truth, not make empty promises just to get the listing.

Q: How are you different from other agents?

A: I have my own company, which means I can be more in control and independent. My name is on the shingle so I feel responsible and accountable to my clients.

Q: Why did you form your own brokerage?

A: I would turn that question around and ask, “Why doesn’t everyone start their own Brokerage?”  I like to do things a certain way and be in control of what I can provide to my clients. I guess my belief is I’d rather be the captain of a smaller sailboat than be the crew on a Cruise liner.

Q: What is your philosophy?

A: To tell people the truth. Try and get the highest price for my sellers and to get a bargain for my buyers.

Q: What’s the best part of your job?

A: How elated the client is when they get the house or sell the house. Finding something for a buyer that they didn’t think they could get or getting a top price for a seller is a great feeling.
